Re-sigh-n

I Resigned on Thursday. I actually had to rush it by one day because there was an individual meeting scheduled on friday that would not make sense to attend if I am quitting. It was about my training requirements for this year. So I had to write the letter.
I sent it late in the evening and next morning I was summonned to meet the manager early next morning. There was shock about my decision and it was agreed that we meet that afternoon for an hour.
We met, there was every conceivable trick tried to retain me and there were moments where I felt I may feel too feeble (mentally) to justify my decision to quit. But I was surprisingly stern and managed to come out of the room sticking to my decision.
There is only so much I can write on a blog page (although private one) but I will give you more details in a con-call.
I am waiting at this moment to hear something from 'them' that will make few decisions easy to take. (I will organise a con call after I get to know about my possibilty of being posted in Bangalore for a few months)
I have accepted the offer all the same.

After spending more than two meaningful years at XXXX, I have decided to move ahead in my career with an option that suits my professional inclinations better.


With lot of introspection I have come to realize that my attitude and professional interests have shifted over years and do not have a strong relevance to the nature of my current role anymore. With this background, after much consideration, I have decided to discontinue my services at XXXX. I hence wish to resign from this job and request you to consider this as my formal resignation.

Please consider this mail as my intimation towards the notice period and I would be glad if I can be relived by 9th June 2006. Be assured that I will do all that in my capacity to ensure a smooth transition of my responsibilities.



I would also like to take this opportunity to thank XXXX and particularly you and the XXXX team for an extremely enriching environment professionally and personally.
